under the influence, performative Gesture: Participatory listening session and a dinner with Suinner.

Their relationship with white linen began at birth, with the white muslin swaddling clothes of her childhood.
Very early on, they developed a particular attachment to fabrics, which they preferred to toys.
They then dreamed of owning her own white cotton sheets, a symbol of a space of her own.
In their family, linens and patterns are passed down from generation to generation and accompany major celebrations.
Their relationship with white evolved over time, notably through a questioning of its minimalist and Western aesthetic.

Today, they is questioning the place of white linen in personal, social, and cultural dimensions.

BIOGRAPHY

Suinner is a Finnish interdisplinary artist. They are a founding member of Ruskeat Tytöt Ry (eng. Brown Girls ngo), Club U-Haul and Pehmee (eng. The Soft Collective.). They work around immersive and experimental installation, raising social and political questions about everyday life objects, gestures, histories and identities.
